There are two basic types of programs offered in Bhutan - cultural
tours and treks.
Cultural tours are excursions by cars,
visiting important cultural sites and places around the country.
Certified cultural guides, who are trained by the Department of
Tourism, escort all tours. Lodging and fooding is arranged at
designated hotels and lodges certified by the Department of Tourism.

Treks are literally luxury camping.
A team of licensed trekking guide(s),"high
altitude
chefs", support staff and pack animals accompany trekking
groups. Everything is carried on animals so that trekkers are
left in comfort with only daypacks. Chefs prepare an array of
dishes that surprise even seasoned traveler
s.
Some have said that the food served at camps surpass what is served
in hotels in the towns.
Treks, depending on the interest, are arranged so as to allow
cultural tours also, before or after treks. And, there are many
small cultural tours lasting three to five days, or more, that
are offered in combination with main cultural tours. It serves
as an interesting way to experience rural Bhutan without the challenges
of big treks.
There are also special interest tours that can be
offered in customized programs. These are bird watching, flower
tours, fly fishing, filming, photography, mountain biking, white
water rafting, kayaking etc. Please contact
